feel free to add me back.

hahahh god

I'm sending my application to a PERFECT dream job, 20 bucks an hour - a six month contract, with possibility of permanence. I could work as a coordonator for an organisation working to prevent homeless First Nation people. Isn't that the best thing I could ever wish for? Its almost exactly what I spent doing in the last 45 hours of school I had.

The only thing missing is the 3 to 5 years of experience. I'll give it a try anyway... I was so excited I couldn't sleep last night.

Yesterday I saw;
-An amazing turtle
-A big muskrat
-Ducks, ducks, ducks!
-A fish with a bright blue tail
-flowers, flowers, flowers! so many pretty and smelly flowers
and some other stuff

plunged my feet in the river, sitting on a rock, surrounded by trees and waterfalls.

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that day. :(

What do I need to make silkscreen at home? I really wanna do that. I have no clue how.

My fingertips smell like garlic for almost 3 days, results of a gigantic potato salad batch. How can I remove this smell? I washes my hands 432983098 times already.

Snakey snake!

Jeff and I woke up (kinda) early on Thursday and we went hiking in the Mont Orford Parc. We went hiking the Mont Chauve, which is 600 meters high. The ride was about 10 km, and it was very muddy at some points, but always cool. We saw a small forest snake and Jeff was like OMG OMG OMG! It was pretty funny how enthusiastic he was about seeing one. He kept talking about it for hours! I loved my day and I wish every day was like this walking and laughing, having to stop because I laughed so much, sweat like crazy, eat hummus+vege pate+pickles+cocumbers+lettuce+mayo+bbq sauce sandwiches, theg and strawberries at the summit. I'm very much in love!

Tomorrow: Day off, Happy national days Quebecers! Vive le Quebec! André Boisclair est tres mignon aujourd'hui! Haha

Ok, Caroline, ethnologist, anthropologist, however you call that, THAT'S ME!!

As I am almost done with school, I feel a little bit nostalgic already. I will miss school. I'm already wondering what to do in my days off, and realized Gab, Sara and I could have been at the beach right now cause I think both have a day off.

This week, we went at Sara's chalet and builded a gigantic castle, with everything our imagination couldpossibly do. We ate veggie dogs by the camp fire on the beach, achieved to burn our jiffy pop, ate a million of icecream treats and marshmallows, of course. We played Yum! and Scrabble, we got bitten but an army of every biting insect on earth. But it was fun. For once I finally, or almost forgot all my obligations.

I haven't seen my boyfriend since last Tuesday and I miss him. I'm heading to Sherbrooke wednesday night around 8. The next morning were going to Mont Orford, we planned some sort of hiking and maybe beach buming, too.

Finally, I cannot wait for Emilie to come back from her trip, I need a hug from her so badly.

Jeff and I decided to celebrate our 3rd month as a couple by taking $2 photobooth pictures. We kinda look bad on all of them, and I look like I've gained 300 pounds around the cheeks, Jeff looks like he's smaller than me (cause I'm sitting on him) but oh well, at least we have pics. We were supposed to go camping but me being in my period, and no tent resulted to no camping. We're having a tent in a couple weeks, so we're going to wait for that.

Yesterday , we prepared a fancy dinner, and made the best oven eggplant and garlic ever. I forgot my camera so no pictures. I love food photography so its all I was thinking about while we were eating. Then we watched some sikkk tv and A Very Long Engagement althought we stopped it at some point because of tiredness syndrome. This morning, we woke up at 8:30, took a shower, I drove him to work and said goodbye for another 5 days. Longue distance relationships are slowly killing my brain, but I think I've never been this happy with someone in my entire life. ...And 1:45 isn't THAT far.

For our 3 months anniversary, Jeff made a light beige paper crane.

Hello world, I'm up since 4:50 am and its now almost midnight. I'm dead tired. But I had to say I had an A+ in my personal reports and an A in my mid term group project on Kahnawake.

Sorry I had to be so modest about scoring in my last under gratuated class, ever.
...And please note I will officially be a member of the Quebec's Anthropologist Association. Now that's fancy.

Thai sauté

Thai sauté Jeff and I made yesterday. It was very yummy indeed. OVERLOADS of coriander in there.

I drove back from Sherbrooke with my broken car til Chambly, then my dad come and picked me up. I left Sherbrooke at 10 am, and got home at 4:45 PM. Usually, it takes me 2 hours MAX. My car is sleeping at the garage I found in that unknown city. Let's cross fingers its not too bad.

Yesterday, my car collapsed.
Seriously. I was driving to Sherbrooke and around Granby (about 85 km away from my house) it started having "spasms." At some point I couldnt drive more than 65km/hour. I was closer to Sherbrooke, so I drove to the next exit (which was freakin 10 km away) with my flashers and on the "don't fall asleep on the road bumps" Urgh. So, half of the time it was doing fine I could drive as fast as I could, but half the time, it was just buzzing off. Anyways, I got there an hour later than usual. Now I'm stuck here and I have to *try?* to come back home tomorrow, cause this morning the car seemed just fine. I suppose it has something to do with the radiator? I have no clue. My dad told me it was maybe something that had to do with fuses or a computerized thing in there. Sometimes I wanna take a basic mecanics class and be able to understand. I wasn't able to put windshield washer in my car 7 months ago, haha.

Still, I'm pretty bummed about it cause I live at my parents house cause I cant afford an appartment, and my car is my only way to get to Montreal. It roughly takes me 25 minutes go go to school, and with 100% public transportation, maybe 3 hours. Also, it takes me 12 minutes to get to work, and I'd take me maybe more than 3 hours going to work. Finally, I wouldn't be able to drive to see my boyfriend anymore. Anyways, if it can't be repaired, I will have to say bye to my lovely Nissan Sentra 1992, aka Lunchbox delight (its so squary I call it the lunchbox + there's tons of empty junk food bags in the back, cause I never clean it)

I have NO money to buy a new car and my dad told me when he bought that one 3 years ago: Its the first and last one I buy for you. And now, I basically have 250$ in my bank account, a broken laptop and a semester to pay in a couple of month.

I'm pretty bummed out about this situation. I know its a car, I know I could have been in an accident, I know the car could have stopped working, but now I can't go to Albany Wednesday to see Tragedy with Phil and THAT makes me sad.

Hopefully things will be ok?

PS: On a good note, yesterday I made strawberry daiquiris, damnnnn it was good!

Garden, May 24th 2006

Finally, first sunny day in a while. Sun finally appeared today! I was very happy to get out of work today. Sad thing though, the lilac tree is almost faded (already!) and I didn't take any good shots of it; its already half "rusty." There is still a few good looking tulips and I can't wait to start the garden.

This week consists of writing a paper so my team and I can put it all together for next Tuesday, and besides, relaxing a little. (Maybe not!)

♥ Jeff and I made the best thai soup made by non asian people on Monday evening. Actually, lemon grass does really make a difference. We also used low-fat coconut milk which wasn't screwing up the recipe either. We, of course, literally abused of my dear old coriander—my favourite herb—I think?

♥ I received the movie Fallen Angels or Duo luo tian shi by Wong Kar Wai, and I will have to wait until next week to watch it.

And and and! I created a flickr account and since I can't remember who has one, add me!

So basically, since I have a little time, this is what is going on in my life:

I am currently at my boyfriends house and the neighbor listening to Creed (ewww, or something that bad) *UPDATE : Its 3 doors down...* and someone using a chainsaw outside woke me up. He's at work until 6pm and I am supposed to start a paper and do some readings for the gerontology class. I worked so much last week, I think I would have to sleep a whole week. I'm so glad I am doing only 22 hours this week, best thing on the planet.

My community action partners & I went to Kahnawake, a Mohawk reserve on the side of Montreal. People in our surrounding (maybe even myself included) had very bad expectations because they are the most "rebel" indigenous we have up here. I don't know if anyone remembers The Oka Crisis, which are Kahnawake's immediate neighbors and affiliates. To make a long story short: We met a lot of NICE people, had information on almost everything we wanted... the social worker at their tiny hospital offered a meeting with other people for our final project. They are the nicest!

That made me think I could be an affiliated anthropologist with their nation. Anyways, next time I meet her I'm going to ask if they were looking for vonlunteer anthropologists to start identity and culture projects in their reserve. I don't even care if its paid or not at this point in my life. I just want to have experience in doing something related to things I like.

Anyways, this visit and project sounds good now and just opened me to a whole new world of possibilities and working in indigenous rights elsewhere than Brazil. I've always been worried with my future and I love it when things like that happens.

Oh yeah—almost forgot to say— that I will probably be the owner of a MacBook sometime this summer. I've decided to probably sell my broken ibook or something, maybe I could get 300$ for it or something... Everything is mint except the logic board.

And and and! Right before we watched Trainspotting, Jeff and I started to watch episodes of Tales From the Crypt's Season 1 on DVD yesterday evening. So many memories. I was such a horror fanatic, even back in the days!

I'm going to end this there cause I'm meeting my baby for lunch (thai soup!) and I have a bunch of things to do.
